Judas asks Jesus why he has gone such a hard way so far.
Judas compliments Jesus on his capability of managing things.
JESUS (to God)
Can you show me now that I would not be killed
in vain ?
God is asked to show His power by not letting Jesus die.
Jesus asks his Father to assure him he’ll not die in agony.
Jesus is frightened by the vision of his own death.
Jesus wants to be sure there’s any point in his dying at all.
JESUS (to God)
God, thy will is hard,
but you hold every card.
God is hard on Jesus but let him decide his fate.
Jesus acknowledges the fact that his Father rules it all.
Jesus doubts God could control this situation.
Jesus’ Father’s management is questioned.
JESUS (to God)
Take me now before I’ll change my
mind !
God is asked to let Jesus die right away, being determined.
Jesus asks God to be taken in.
Jesus asks his Father for more time to make up his mind.
Jesus’ Father is begged to help Jesus not to die.
CROWD (to Jesus)
You know what your suppoters feel.
You'll escape in the
final reel.
Jesus is given hope for fair trial.
Jesus is told he could escape only dead.
People bring up the possibility of seeing Jesus free eventually.
People inform Jesus about their support and promise to help him escape.
MARY MAGDALENE (to Peter / about Jesus)
Peter – don't you know what you have said?
You've gone and cut him
dead !
Mary reproaches Peter for his denial.
Mary thinks Peter has abetted in turning Jesus in.
Peter is accused of killing Jesus.
Peter is scolded for recognizing Jesus.
KING HEROD (to Jesus)
I am waiting, yes, I'm a captive fan!
I'm dying to be shown that you are
not just any man!
Herod craves for seeing a great show made by Jesus.
Herod is dying after being shown Jesus is not just any man.
Herod is excited by the possibility he could show Jesus something extraordinary.
Jesus has ruffled Herod’s feathers by his show.
ANNAS (to Judas)
All that you've said has come true with a
vengeance .
All Judas has said has come true but not completely.
Annas appreciates Judas’ successful revenge.
Annas describes to Judas the possibility he could help them to fulfil his
promise about his vengeance.
The priest informs Judas that his plans have become real to a greater degree
than was expected.
ANNAS (to Judas)
You backed the right horse .
Judas has made a wrong decision.
Judas has made the right decision.
Judas should have made a decision.
Judas should have made another decision.
PETER (to Jesus)
I think you've made your point now.
You've even gone a bit too far to get the
message home .
Jesus has gone, according to Peter, a bit too far to deliver some important
mail home.
Peter believes Jesus has overdone it trying to explain his view.
Peter drives at Jesus’ inability to stop his steps in time.
Peter praises the way Jesus has outsmarted the others.
PILATE (to Jews)
You Jews produce Messiahs by the
sackful !
Jews, according to Pilate, think highly of their Messiahs.
Pilate considers Jews volatile and puts it quite bluntly.
Pilate expects Jews to defend their Messiah, as usual.
Pilate reminds Jewish tradition of bringing Messiahs in holy sacks to the
Temple.
