I have choosen the article Thinking twice about carols. It's written by Paul Farrington-Douglas from Great Britain. The article is on the page nineteen. We know most traditional carols about Jesus in the stable, shepherds or three kings. But we don't know them all. I'll tell you about three carols that you maybe don't know. We Three Kings Of Orient Are is carol from the 19th century. At that time it was the only carol that told about kings. The song is very famous and every child knows the first verse: We Three Kings Of Orient Are. Bearing gifts we traverse afar. Field and fountain, moor and mountain. Following younder star. We Three Kings Of Orient Are has a lot of verses that are not so well known. In the verses kings talk about their gifts- Gaspar gives frankincense, Melichior gold and Balthazar brings myrrah. There is an unofficial version too: We Three Kings Of Orient Are, one in a taxi, one in a car. One on a scooter, blowing his hooter, smoking a big cigar.

The Wexford Carol This carol was translated from Irish into English few hundred years ago. It's a biblical carol. With Mary holy we should pray. To God with love this Christmas Day. In Bethlehem upon that morn. There was a blessed Messiah born. After English Civil War Oliver Cromwell banned Catholic carols and he killed Catholics in huge numbers. The survivous wrote down all their songs. The Wexford Carol is one of these.

The Cherry Tree Carol is very old carol from 15th century. It's about Joseph and Mary who are walking through a cherry orchard. Mary tells Joseph that she is expecting a baby. And he is angry at her. Than something unexpected happed here, Jesus do (?) miracle from inside Mary. The cherry tree bent down. Mary spoke to Joseph so meek and so mild. Go gather me some cherries for I am with child. Now Joseph flew in anger, in anger flew he. Let the father of your baby gather cherries for thee.

Na žádost slečny v nesnázích je už odpovězeno prostřednictvím soukromé zprávy. :-) Pro zajímavost: make a miracle (doesn't sound good to me), do a miracle (přijatelné), work a miracle, perform a miracle – see Ngram.
