text

Dobý den, mohl by mi někdo zkontrolovat tento text do školy, zda dává alespoň nějak smysl. Děkuji

In my ending story, I thought Harry wanted to steal something from the ship. He heard people arguing on the ship and quietly climbed onto the ship. The ship began to retreat. Before Harry could decide what to do, he heard another scream. Frightened, he quickly jumped off the ship. Then Harry realized he knew the person. But in the actual story the woman in the water was Sophie. She and Harry were both police officers. They were investigating a diamond robbery.

Congratulations, the text doesn't contain any grammar mistakes and reads well. Navrhl bych ale následující tři varianty, které zní přirozeněji:

  1. Ending story nejde; in my story ending, in my version of the (story) ending [tuším, že jde o zakončení příběhu, that you were asked to think up a story ending, to make up your own ending to the story]
  2. Climbed aboard the ship; [“onto” is certainly acceptable, but “aboard” sounds more natural with a ship]
  3. The ship began to move, the ship began to move off, the ship began to move away. “Retreat” nezní dobře, když nevíme z/od čeho, např. retreat from the battle, retreat from the shallow water, retreat from the cannon fire.
