…and when we're at it. I wouldn't teach my kids words like: „rubber“ for „eraser“ or „cock“ for a „rooster“. And teenagers should know the meaning of „fag“ in BrE and AmE. There's only one English, and it has many colors, and all of them are true.

And furthermore, I'd say there is almost no British English any more! The country is so multicultural diverse that you more often found hearing Indian, Chinese, African or Carebian English than somebody who was born there.
Thank you, Jirka! I have had a really hard time trying to convince the (Czech) English teachers at our local ZŠ not to teach the words „cock“ and „rubber“ – they always reply „But it's in the textbook!!!“ <slap forehead>
